Swallowing herbs and drinking tea…

My new diet – Wellness Formula herbs and black tea. Soup and toast are also thrown into the mix. It’s not a diet of choice, just one I hope works to help me feel better again. I managed to pick up some kind of bug and this is the best way I know how to fight it off. Prayers are also appreciated!

I spent Sunday and Monday cleaning, sorting, filing, dusting, vacuuming, and rearranging the furniture (okay, I had help with that part) in two of our rooms – the living room and dining room. It’s never really been a dining room, not since we began homeschooling years ago, though at that time it did have a dining room table there and pretended to look like a dining room. But it soon gave way to individual desks (kids couldn’t work at a table where they could look at each other. They eventually ended up in separate rooms of the house, but that’s beside the point. The school desks gave way to computer desks, and the dining room became more of an office ever since. Now it has bookshelves added and the living room can actually be lived in again.

Not that it wasn’t lived in before. It was an extension of the computer room. Anyone who has visited over the years probably wonders why we needed such an arrangement, but there are some things in life you just don’t share. Computers for a famShadow watching TVily of computer geeks and writers is one of those things. :)

But there is less furniture at our house now with two less adults sharing space, so it was time to move things around, to fill in the empty places. Maybe it was all the shredding or kicking up all of the dust that got me coughing and gave me this bug, but it’s a job that needed doing. Now it’s on to the the second floor…

Which will have to wait until I feel better. I’m co-teaching a writing class through ACFW this month on “How to Write Your Passion and Still Get Published.” So far the participation has been very encouraging and hopefully, we will be able to give some good pointers to the class members. In all honesty, I don’t feel all that qualified to teach writing. A good friend (and fellow author) told me I shouldn’t think that way, but it’s just weird to be on the other end of things. I still have so much to learn. It seems strange to be teaching what little I know. But I do hope it helps someone.

Still working on cutting some final words from Bathsheba, but I took a small break to watch an episode of Planet Earth today. Shadow sat on my lap and watched with me, (see picture above) and I do believe he noticed when his cougar or snow leopard cousins appeared on screen. Not sure he saw the grizzly on screen in the photo though. If only he could see through the computer screen when the boys get on Skype with us. Oh well…they haven’t perfected a computer that a cat can see well yet.

In the meantime, I hope I feel better tomorrow. I’ve got too many plans this weekend, but right now all I want to do is veg. Maybe we’ll watch a movie…
