Getting Ready for Denver!

I’m glad there are only 24 hours in a day, but sometimes it seems like there is never enough time to get everything done. I leave for Denver on Thursday to attend the Write From the Heart Conference and today is a lot of last minute chores, laundry, dental visit, watering the garden, baking brownies for the kids to snack on while I’m gone. (At least I won’t be around to be tempted to eat them, since I can’t eat chocolate right now.) I also made a huge pot of spaghetti sauce for dinner. Mmmm…I’ll have to add that recipe to the website soon.

I attended this conference two years ago in Kansas City. It was great meeting so many author friends – people I “knew” online, but not in person. I learned a lot that year, about writing and about myself. I realized what an introvert I can be and how overwhelmed I feel in new situations by myself. I’m used to traveling with Randy, (my hubby) and feel pretty wimpy without him.

Still, I’m going, and I’m looking forward to whatever God has in store for me. I can’t wait to see some dear friends including my critique partners and renew old friendships and make new ones. This conference is to promote Christian fiction, which I love to read and write. There are some awesome authors in CBA. If you haven’t read them, check out the links page and visit some of their websites. I’ve only listed some of my favorites, but there are many more great authors out there that I haven’t read yet. If you have a favorite author, drop me a line and tell me what book you like and why. I’m always interested in a good read.
